COVID 19 Bulletin #3 27/3/2020

Colleagues,

I have attached a copy of the union's latest update and advice regarding the crisis we are currently facing. I will continue to arrange, through John Rigby, our Assistant Secretary, for any future advice to be forwarded to you via bulk e-mail, as applicable.

I have also arranged for Terry Davis, our IT Officer, to update our local NEU website with this information.

An additional 'communication tool' which may be useful in the coming weeks would be to set up a WhatsApp group of school reps (or, in the case of schools who do not have a current NEU rep, a person who will take on the role of 'coronavirus rep’) so that both  these updates and information regarding 'issues' at individual schools can be shared so that a borough-wide collective position can be consolidated.

This person could, in turn, contact our other members at the school to allow everyone to have an input into any subsequent decisions.

In the first instance, therefore, I would appreciate if all reps or prospective 'corona reps' could e-mail me direct to confirm they are their school group's designated contact point. I will then arrange for the WhatsApp group to be set up. It can, of course, be updated to include more 'reps' - or changes in 'reps' - as we go along.
